Plural, an early-stage investment firm founded by founders and operators, has launched a new €400 million fund to support the most ambitious creators on a mission to improve the world through technology.
The new capital, raised just 18 months after the debut fund, builds on Plural’s momentum from its first 26 investments, the expansion of the investment and platform scaling team, and a strong interest among smart LPs to invest in Plural’s unique strategy.
Plural was founded in June 2022 to provide serious European founders with investors who have the experience to match their ambition. Only 8% of European venture capitalists have previously founded a firm, but founders launching difficult businesses would benefit from investors with firsthand experience.
Plural’s investment team, which includes Carina Namih, Ian Hogarth, Khaled Helioui, Sten Tamkivi, and Taavet Hinrikus, has decades of experience establishing global internet firms such as Wise, Skype, Songkick, Teleport, Bigpoint, and HelixNano. Known as ‘Unemployables’, their experience founding and growing some of the most innovative and impactful global technology companies is invaluable for the next generation of founders, while their hands-on investing approach of meaningful support and deep time promises to shape the trajectories of the companies they back.
We know that important technology is being developed throughout Europe; more than 40% of European tech investment in the last year has gone toward frontier and deep tech. Plural supports entrepreneurs who use technology to solve serious global challenges. We’re driven to establish long-lasting global firms that have a GDP-level impact and are transformative for economies and society by assisting the most ambitious entrepreneurs with our hard-earned expertise.

Over the last 18 months, the Plural team has grown to 15 people, with offices in Tallinn, Estonia and London, United Kingdom. Namih, the founder, former CEO, and pioneer of mRNA and AI, joined the Unemployables in March 2023. Furthermore, Plural’s platform scaling team now includes seasoned operators with extensive industry experience who support Plural’s portfolio founders in a variety of areas, including legal, fundraising, marketing, and product.
